Resource Partner of the Month: CCL Posted on 03/01/2010 The Center for Civic Leadership
Mission: The mission of the Center for Civic Leadership is to foster and promote the development of citizens and "citizen leaders" who will address and solve community problems. This model of leadership emphasizes collective action through collaboration for the purpose of addressing social needs and injustices. This approach to leadership development operates on the basic assumption that all of us have the ability to serve as leaders, and therefore, should participate in civic action for the purpose of making a difference in our communities. One of the keystones of NetWork Kansas' philosophy involves building a strong community foundation and creating an environment in which entrepreneurship will thrive. Community leadership is a fundamental part of this process. The Center for Civic Leadership offers Kansas small businesses the opportunity to improve their organizational and leadership skills through organizational audits, leadership training seminars, strategic planning sessions, leadership consulting, and more. The Center for Civic Leadership is available to provide services to any Kansas business or organization. The Center can provide tailor-made leadership training specifically designed to meet the needs of your organization. Past topics include teamwork and collaboration, goal-setting, time management, and problem solving. The Center for Civic Leadership (CCL) is a nationally recognized institute for citizen leadership development. Through its many programs, the CCL provides high quality educational programs and initiatives designed to enhance civic leadership capabilities among participants. |
The CCL offers many programs for fostering civic leadership, but one that may be of particular interest to business owners is the LEAD program: Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) provides leadership education and development activities to citizens in the Midwest region. Using expert faculty from FHSU, leadership development topics of your choice can be selected for your corporate, non-profit or civic organization trainings.
