Bird City Overview
Selected as an E-Community in 2008, Bird City is a small, active,
agricultural community located in Cheyenne County (in Northwest
Kansas.) Despite its small size (population 482), Bird City continues
to pursue a number of progressive projects for the benefit of the
community. Examples include a renovation of the city park, landscaping
the entrance to Bird City, recruiting a 3,200-head dairy farm to Bird
City (which created 28 new jobs and brought in over 30 children to the
school district), and renovation of an old bank building to serve as a
business incubator building for start-up and expanding businesses.
